In line with the City Government’s goals toward continuous development of the Agriculture Sector, the City Agriculture Office headed by City Agriculturist Lito Forneas distributed one thousand and six hundred (1600) bags of complete fertilizers to the 878 registered farmers in the city that started last June 17, 2021 in the different barangays.
“These fertilizers will really help me as a small farmer especially that our agricultural sales is badly affected by the pandemic,” Mr. Florence Ragucos a farmer from Barangay Bongtolan said.
Meanwhile, Forneas said that the fertilizers were procured and funded by the City Government of Vigan through the leadership of Mayor Juan Carlo Medina.
He also added that the City Government will continue to support the Bigueño farmers especially in this time of crisis.
The distribution was spearheaded by the City Agriculture Office in cooperation with the Barangay Councils.
