Bigueño Families Receive Free Market Packages

To ease the burden of the families in the locked down areas due to COVID-19 cases in the City, the City Government of Vigan through the City Market Office together with the City General Services Office constantly provides free market packages consist of vegetables, eggs, dressed chicken and condiments to the affected families under critical zones in various barangays.

The said package is good for one week to ensure the nutritional needs of the affected families while on lockdown.

Meanwhile, the City Social Welfare and Development Office provided twenty-five kilos of rice, canned goods and hygiene kits as additional aid.

In addition, the City Mayor’s Office consistently provide financial assistance of P10,000 to the Barangays with lockdowns be used for the needs of the barangay personnel manning the locked down residences round the clock.

City Health Officer II Dr. Loida Ranches further reminded the public to maintain the COVID-19 protocols in spite of the fast vaccination roll-out in the city.

She further stresses that even vaccinated individuals are still possible carriers of the virus. “Let us all continue to convince our seniors and persons with comorbidities to participate in the vaccination program to prevent severe effects of the virus,” Dr. Ranches added.
