
Vigan’s Leadership Transitions as Mayor Jose ‘Bonito’ Singson Jr. Turns Over Office to Mayor Randy Singson
Today, June 30, 2025, the city government of Vigan, led by outgoing Mayor Jose “Bonito” Singson Jr., along with the Department of Interior and Local Government–Vigan City through CLGOO Ceasarieta Pestaño and incoming Mayor Randy Singson, held the turnover ceremony at the Vigan City Hall lobby.
The highlight of the event was the symbolic and heartfelt gesture of outgoing City Mayor Jose “Bonito” Singson Jr. handing over the key of stewardship, responsibilities, and documents to the newly elected officials, led by City Mayor Randy Singson and Vice Mayor Glendale Benzon.
The ceremonial handover represents the peaceful transition of leadership and the continuity of public service for the people of Vigan.
Present to witness this event were Ilocos Sur Governor Jeremias “Jerry” Singson, newly elected city officials, outgoing members of the City Council, department heads, the division chief, city employees, and different national agencies.
In his message, Governor Singson expressed gratitude to Mayor Bonito Singson for his unwavering dedication to public service and welcomed the new administration under Mayor Randy Singson. He highlighted the importance of unity, cooperation, and servant leadership, emphasizing that “guided by the heart of service and unity of people,” we can continue to build a better and stronger Vigan.
