Today, July 22, 2025, the Department of Education–Vigan City Division held the completion and graduation one hundred fifty-two learners of the Alternative Learning System at the Vigan Convention Center.

The event was graced by Schools Superintendent Vilma Eda, along with City Mayor Randolf “Randy” Singson, Committee Chairperson on Education SPM Jay Andia, SPM Karen Baquiran, SPM Nestor Pajaro, SPM Edmund Ayco, SPM Larry Raboy, SPM Jay Andia, ABC Vice President Shawn Patrick Singson, PPSK Vice President Carl Louie Alquetra, and the event’s guest speaker, Mr. Marwin Andaya.

In his message, City Mayor Randy congratulated the completers and graduates for reaching this milestone in their lives and not giving up on their dreams by pursuing formal education. He also acknowledged the unconditional support and guidance of the parents and teachers.

“All I ask is that you all keep pursuing your goals and never feel inferior. Don’t limit yourself to what you can do; just keep pushing towards your dreams,” City Mayor Randy emphasized.

“Today marks not the end of the city’s support, but rather the start of additional opportunities to guarantee your ongoing development and ultimately improve your lives and those of your family,” he said.

Moreover, Committee on Education Chairperson SPM Andia also encouraged the ALS completers and graduates to continue striving and assured them that the city government will further its support in the promotion of accessible, inclusive, and quality education for all Biguenos regardless of their age, status, and ethnicity.

SDS Eda expressed her gratitude to the constant support of the city government for the improvement of the education system in the city and for promoting inclusive and accessible quality education for all.

Also present at the event were barangay captains, non-government organizations, and other agencies that served as partners of the DepEd–Vigan in implementing the ALS program.
