On July 24, 2025, the City Government of Vigan, through the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, led by Chairperson Randy Singson, conducted a tree pruning operation across various barangays in the city through the City General Services Office (GSO), City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO), and City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), in coordination with the Ilocos Sur Electric Cooperative, Inc. (ISECO) and the Barangay Councils.

This is to ensure safety and accessibility along streets and residential houses from the possibility of downed trees that may cause danger and delay of emergency response during a typhoon.

Barangay captains assisted in identifying priority areas, particularly those with overhanging branches near power lines and residential zones, to minimize risks brought by Typhoon โ€œEmong.”
