Today, July 18, 2025, City Mayor Randy Singson convened a coordination meeting at the City Mayor’s Office to discuss the situational report and current status of Tropical Storm “Crising” and strategize possible pre-emptive evacuation measures to safeguard residents.

Present during the meeting were Vice Mayor Glendale Benzon, SPM Larry Raboy, SPM Jay Andia, SPM Karen Baquiran, SPM Nestor Pajaro, City Administrator Atty. Rechille Ann Mariano, City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer Milagros Alquiza, City General Services Officer Kenneth Victa and OIC–City Social Welfare and Development Officer Reyman Tuliao, representatives from the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Philippine Navy, and PNP Maritime Group.

Following the meeting, the City officials led by City Mayor Randy Singson along with the attached agencies conducted on-site monitoring of barangays and coastal areas to ensure the readiness and safety of communities. They also visited Barangay Camanggan, where five (5) families have been evacuated, and personally distributed relief food packs to the affected households.

Meanwhile, Child Development Workers are conducting the repacking of relief goods at the Vigan City warehouse to ensure the timely delivery of assistance to potentially affected areas.

The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC), through the City Public Safety and Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CPSDRRMO), City Engineering Office (CEO), City Environment and Natural Resources (CENRO), City Health Office (CHO), City General Services Office (GSO), and the Philippine National Police—Vigan, PNP Maritime Group and Bureau of Fire Protection maintained their high alert status since yesterday to ensure preparedness and quick response.
