
The City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (CADAC) and City Peace and Order Council (CPOC) held its first Quarter Joint Meeting last March 12, 2025, at Casa Vicente, Vigan City, wherein City Mayor Jose “Bonito” Singson Jr., being the Chairperson, along with Vigan City LGOO Cesarieta Pestaño, presided over the meeting.
During the meeting, reports on peace and order initiatives by the Philippine National Police, the status of illegal drugs in barangays by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, traffic management by the City Public Safety and Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, fire mitigations and response interventions by the Bureau of Fire Protection, situational reports at the City Jail by the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, aftercare services by the City Social Welfare and Development Office and City Health Office, and future programs of the City Government.
Mayor Singson expressed his gratitude to the various partner agencies and organizations for their unwavering support and active involvement. He emphasized that their collective efforts are vital in achieving the shared vision of a peaceful, drug-free, and orderly Vigan City.
Afterwards, City Mayor Singson turned over the City Government’s newly purchased office equipment for the Ilocos Sur PDEA, which includes a unit of desktop with printer and Canon EOR R10 camera. This serves as additional assistance from the city government to the agency in support of fighting against illegal drugs.
