Coinciding with the 24th World Heritage Cities Solidarity Cultural Festival, the City Government of Vigan, through the City Cultural Affairs and Tourism Office, officially opened this yearโs Tourism Week Celebration through the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the Komidas de Ayer (One Barangay โ One Product) on September 8, 2025, in front of Vigan City Hall.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by City Mayor Randy Singson and Vice Mayor Atty. Glendale Benzon, together with the members of the 9th City Council. They were joined by Ilocos Sur Governor Jeremias โJerryโ Singson, represented by SPM Third Ranches, and Vice Governor Ryan Luis Singson.
A total of 39 barangays showcased their One Barangay, One Product (OBOP) entries, highlighting the creativity and resourcefulness of Bigueรฑos. Adding an international flair, representatives from Vigan Cityโs Chinese and Indian communities also joined the fair, presenting their unique cuisines and products.
All 39 participating barangays and international groups took part in the Best Booth Competition, where three outstanding exhibitors will be awarded for their creativity, presentation, and overall impact. The Komidas de Ayer fair will run from September 8 to 14, 2025, open daily from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
