The Schools Division Office of Vigan culminated the National Teachers’ Month Celebration with a Teachers’ Day Celebration on October 20, 2025, at the Vigan Convention Center.

The celebration was led by Vigan Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Vilma Eda, together with the SDO Vigan family. They were joined by City Mayor Randy Singson, along with SPM Jay Andia, Chairperson of the Committee on Education; SPM Joy Benette Orio, SPM Evaristo Singson III, SPM Larry Raboy, SPM Ramil Arce, and SPM Edmund Ayco. The event gathered school principals, heads, teaching and non-teaching personnel from the Department of Education – Vigan City Division.

The day began with a Holy Mass officiated by Rev. Fr. Romeo Benitez, serving as a moment of thanksgiving for the unwavering dedication of Vigan’s educators. It was followed by a Loyalty and Elderly Awards Ceremony, recognizing teachers and non-teaching staff for their 10 to 40 years of faithful and committed service to the Department of Education.

As part of the celebration, teachers also enjoyed a socialization activity and a fun-filled Lip Sync Battle competition, fostering camaraderie and joy among the participants.

In his message, City Mayor Randy Singson expressed his deep admiration for the educators of Vigan, emphasizing that “our Bigueño teachers go beyond teaching lessons—they are advisers, coaches, artists, leaders, and community builders who embody the spirit of ‘Public Service Above Self.’”

The event highlighted the city’s continuing commitment to honor and uplift its teachers, our everyday heroes whose passion and service shape the minds and hearts of future generations of Bigueños.
