The City Government of Vigan conducted an Alay Lakad (Walking for a Cause) on November 30, 2025, to raise funds for the Alternative Learning System (ALS).

City Mayor Randy Singson led the fundraising walk together with City Vice Mayor Glendale Benzon and members of the 9th City Council. The event was also joined by city government employees; the Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur; DepEd Vigan City Division; barangay and SK officials; national government agencies; business establishments; schools; media; and non-government organizations.

Participants walked along five clustered routes starting from Barangay Ayusan Sur, Barangay Camangaan, Barangay Nagsangalan, Barangay Pantay Daya, and Barangay Tamag. After the walk, additional learning equipment was awarded to ALS teachers and learners, personally handed over by Mayor Randy Singson, Vice Mayor Glendale Benzon, and members of the 9th City Council.

The event concluded with a lively Zumba session, bringing participants together in a fun and energizing celebration of community spirit. Through the generosity of individual participants and groups, the Alay Lakad successfully raised funds to improve learning resources and support the continued development of ALS programs in Vigan City.
