In view of the City’s continous efforts in strengthening its people on disaster and emergency response, the City Government of Vigan through the City Public Safety and Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office and the Vigan Youth Emergency Response Team (VYERT) held the three-day Youth Responders Camp at the Regional Evacuation Center, Ayusan Sur, Vigan City, Ilocos Sur.
Over fourty-six (46) youth participants from the various barangays of the city attended the event where lectures and simulation activities were held such as Bandaging of soft tissue and burn injuries, Lifting and carrying of sick and injured patients, Ambulance Management Operations, and Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation.
During its opening program, CPSDRRMO Milagros Alquiza highlighted thd importance of the capacitating the youth as well as their active participation in the governance.
LDRRMO Jordan Christopher Soria, VYERT Coordinator Alimar Ablog, VERT members Eurielle Lontoc, Fidel Amano, Erwin Aldenese, Allen Ablog, John Dave Alacausin and the YVERT Officers led by its President Stephen Jose served as trainors and facilitators.
