Vigan City to pursue IT-BPO Study

The City Government of Vigan, has partnered with outsourcing advisory and research firm Tholons to embark on a comprehensive study that will seek to assess its capabilities with emphasis in talent competencies as an outsourcing delivery location.

In a move that will try to add to the economic power of the city which relies on her rich heritage and a thriving tourism sector, the Vigan City Government represented by Mayor Eva Marie S. Medina and Tholons recently signed a memorandum of agreement to conduct this study expected to be released on December 18. Present during the signing are Tholons Operations Manager Lester Bautista, Tholons Project Manager Kenneth Candelaria, Tholons Independent Consultant Willy Tanagon, Tholons Partner Jonathan De Luzuriaga and former Provincial Board Member Heredio Bello Jr.

“While preserving the city’s culture, we are also continuously venturing into developing other areas that lead to more job opportunities in Vigan”, Mayor Eva said.

The study will provide a roadmap with the objective of providing a comprehensive city location analysis and talent assessment that will gauge the competitiveness of the city’s labor pool compared to emerged international and local outsourcing destinations.
