Vigan City shines at 2018 CMCI Regional Level

The City Government of Vigan through the City Business Permit and Licensing Office (CBPLO) shined during the 2018 Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI) Regional Level Awarding Ceremony last December 12 at the Diego Silang Hall, Provincial Capitol of La Union.

This CMCI is one of the highlights of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) annually to recognized the Local Government Units that excelled in the National Competitiveness Council’s 2018 CMCI course.

Economic Dynamism, Government Efficiency, Infrastructure and Resiliency were the Four Pillars of the CMCI.

Vigan City got 2nd place in the Government Efficiency and Economic Dynamism Category in Regional Level while 22nd place in National Level. Correspondingly in the Overall Competitiveness, LGU Vigan placed as 3rd in Regional Level and 30th place in National Level.

DTI-1 Regional Director and RCC Chairman R-1 Florante O. Leal, CESO III, RCC R-1 Co- Chair Nelson C. Yunchongtian, Area VP for North Luzon of Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry Roberto E. Lim and Regional Director James F. Fadrilan of DILG 1 presented the awards to Vice Mayor Lourdes Baquiran and City Business Permit and Licensing Officer IV Elpidio Palapala.
