Vigan City ReceIves Second Seal of Good Education Governance

Because of the strong commitment of the City Government of Vigan and the Department of Education – Vigan City Division for continuous delivery of quality education towards its learners, the Synergeia Foundation awarded the City Government of Vigan of its Second Seal of Good Education Governance (Red Seal) for the year 2020 last June 23, 2021 wherein City Mayor Juan Carlo Medina and the Department of Education – Vigan City Division led by Schools Division Superintendent Gemma Tacuycuy, CESO V acknowledge the said plaque of recognition.

                “The Deped-Vigan City Division is very glad that for the second time we received the said award and we’re grateful to the profound support of the City Government headed by Mayor Juan Carlo Medina without his eagerness to further uplift the quality of the education in the city this award will not be possible.” DepEd Vigan –SDO Tacuycuy said.

                She also acknowledged the unity and efforts of the Division as well as the different stakeholders of the city for their tireless action to deliver quality education despite the pandemic.

                The Seal of Good Education Governance is an annual awarding buddy spearheaded by the Synergeia Foundation inpartnership with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) for the Cities and Municipalities of the country to measure on how local governments provide children with equal access to good education.

                Meanwhile, the City Government of Vigan received its first seal last 2019 wherein Vice President Leni Robredo personally handed the award to City Mayor Juan Carlo Medina, SPM Joy Benette Orio and former Deped-Vigan City SDO Anselmo Aludino at the 13th National Education Summit.
