Vigan City inks Sisterhood Agreement with Pateros

Vigan City Mayor Eva Marie S. Medina and Pateros Mayor Jaime Medina signed a Sisterhood Agreement on February 17, 2016 at the Vigan Convention Center.
Under the agreement,  Vigan and Pateros are to adopt programs and establish an enduring link through the exchange of initiatives and experiences in the following areas such as Commerce particularly in the exchange of business missions and participation in expositions, fairs, business fora that would promote and enhance the trading of goods and services between both parties; Environmental Protection, Education and Citizen Empowerment; Local Governance and Cultural Heritage for the exchange of strategies and best practices in cultural preservation.
Mayor Eva said the agreement between Vigan City and Pateros shall foster friendship and collaboration among the Bigueños and the people of Pateros through the exchange of replicable best practices.
The agreement also states that the two cities will maintain an open line of communication and will meet annually in order to evaluate the aspects derived from the present agreement and to propose new guidelines for the development of projects of mutual interest.
The said agreement was signed by both Mayors in the presence of their officials, department heads and employees. Cultural presentations from the Vigan City Cultural Troupe and Pateros Cultural Group were also presented.
Both parties also exchanged gifts as token of their newly formed sisterhood ties.
