 Vigan City Get Senate Recognition

Senators present a resolution commending Vigan City for being chosen as one of the New7Wonders cities to local government officials led by Mayor Eva Medina and Representative Ronald Singson.

The City Government of Vigan led by Vigan City Mayor Eva Marie S. Medina receives a resolution from the Senate of the Philippines commending the City of Vigan for being chosen as one of the New7Wonders Cities of the World and for being a model for heritage conservation. The  Senate Resolutions 1053, 1057, 1085 and 1130 authored by Senator Pia Cayetano was handed to Mayor Eva Medina by Senate President Franklin Drilon on January 28, 2015 at the House of the Senate at Pasay City in Manila.

The resolution’s author Senator Pia Cayetano was joined by Senators Cynthia Villar, Loren Legarda, Peter Allan Cayetano and Bongbong Marcos. With Mayor Eva Medina were SPMs Ramil Arce, George Villanueva, Third Ranches, Juan Carlo Medina, Kisses Agdamag, John Patrick Singson and Kristen Benedict Figuerras and Mr. Antonio Agustin.

Senator Pia S. Cayetano in her resolution  hailed the selection of Vigan City in the New7Wonders Cities search, saying its recognition among the most admired cities in the world should be a source of pride, not only for the Ilocano people, but for all Filipinos here and abroad.
