Vigan City conferred in the CHG 2019

With continuous efforts, excellence in giving quality healthcare and the outstanding implementation of the city’s different health programs to its constituents, Vigan City was recognized by the Kaya Natin! Movement for Good Governance and Ethical Leadership, MSD and the Jesse Robredo Foundation as one of the top LGU’s in the Champions for Health Governance awarded last May 29 at the Office of the Vice President, New Manila, Quezon City.

In the ceremony, Vice President Leni Robredo personally awarded the towns of Tacurong in Sultan Kudarat, Kidapawan in North Cotabato, Cabatuan in Iloilo, San Felipe in Zambales, and the Heritage City of Vigan as Top five LGU’s for excellence in governance for healthy communities.

Vigan City Health Officer II Dr. Loida Ranches together with the Dr. Evelyn Del Castillo and Mylene Amano acknowledged the said award.

Trophy and cash prize worth One Hundred Thousand pesos were given to be used as fund in their best health programs.

The CHG aims to recognize the top performing  LGUs for excellent and efficient implementation of its local health programs, in  line with national health goals, promote good governance in health at the local level, promote collaboration amongst stakeholders in health and encourage  others to embrace commitment toward equitable access to quality health care.

The winners  of the said award underwent series of evaluations: First Level Screening: The Search and Selection Committee further evaluates the field of possibilities and shortlists ten (10) LGU’s for advancement to the next screening level; Site Evaluation; Panel Presentation and Interview; Awards Ceremony to the top five winning LGU’s.
