Students alongside workers of different offices, public and private, actively engaged in the Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on August 16 that was conducted by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).
At exactly 2PM, the siren went off and this signaled the start of the nationwide earthquake drill. Residents were led by junior respondents to evacuate at the Quirino Stadium. Different incidents such as looting, rescue and retrieval operations, fire suppression, and high angle rescue were also depicted to assess the Rapid Damage Assessment and Needs Analysis Team.
This activity’s primary goal is to improve the city’s disaster preparedness measures as well as to let everyone be aware of what should be done when a disaster, specifically an earthquake, strikes.
