Seventy three couples received the sacrament of marriage in mass wedding rites last November 30 at the Conversion of St. Paul Cathedral. Unmarried couples were given the chance to legitimize their bond as husband and wife. A simple gathering after the wedding rites was held at the Vigan Youth Center where couples experienced a champagne toast, cake slicing and money dance. Gifts were also given to them.
The mass wedding was sponsored by the city government in cooperation with the Balikatan sa Vigan Organization and the parish of St. Paul. Mayor Eva Marie S. Medina and former Mayor Ferdinand C. Medina led the city government officials and department heads as sponsors.
