The Paleng-QR Ph Plus program, jointly developed by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), aims to promote digital payments in markets, banks, and institutions. It seeks to maximize the use of digital payments through digital devices such as cellphone apps using the QR PH initiatives, which establish a national standard for QR codes. Furthermore, the program seeks to encourage local government units across the country to advocate for the acceptance of digital payments within their communities.
On April 22, 2024, the City Government, together with the BSP and Gcash, conducted Financial Literacy (FinLit) sessions at the Vigan Conservation Complex, wherein representatives from economic enterprises and the transportation sector of the city participated in the event.
The said session covered Digital Literacy and Business Opportunities with Gcash, as well as Financial Literacy and Know Your Money by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, to further deepen the understanding and acceptance of the program by the community.
