It will also ensure that all 5-year old children have access to quality pre-school education and are school ready integrating health and nutrition components and expand access and coverage to all five year old children, initially focusing on the poorest and disadvantage
“Early Learning for Life” covers the intensive training of teachers and day care workers; provision of learning materials, clean water, and sanitation services; orientation of parents; strengthening of local ECCD councils to coordinate services; and integrated approach to hygiene education and child protection. The presence of the ECCD center is projected to contribute to improved school readiness of 3-to-5 year-old boys and girls, help achieve the UN Millennium Development Goals, and help the Philippines meet global standards on basic education.
