As one of the highlights in the celebration of this year’s National Children’s Month and 33rd Library and Information Services Month, the City Government of Vigan, through the Vigan City Council for the Protection of Children and the Vigan City Library, held the Book Drive and turn-over of books on November 13, 2023, at Vigan City Hall Lobby.
Present at the event were City Mayor Jose “Bonito” Singson Jr., Vice Mayor Randy Singson, SPM Ada Joana Fe Artajos, SPM Larry Raboy, SPM Liborio Arca, City Librarian Czarina Mae Ulibas, and the City Head of Offices and Divisions.
SPM Artajos, the Chairperson for the Committee on Women, Family Affairs, and Gender and Development, highlighted the importance of having access to knowledge and information, as well as the recovery of the Vigan City Library after the flood caused by the super typhoon Egay.
On the other hand, City Mayor Singson encouraged everyone to donate to the book drive. He also said that the participation of every individual in the faster rehabilitation of the library will ensure a better future for the city’s learners.
