The Department of Information and Communication Technology Region I held its Bayang Digital ang Bagong Pilipinas: 2024 Regional Roadshow in Ilocos Sur on May 28, 2024, at the Plaza Maestro Convention Center, Vigan City, where representatives from local government units, satellite offices of national agencies, and academic institutions in the province attended the event.
DICT Regional Director June Vincent Manuel Gaudan, together with Vigan City Mayor Jose “Bonito” Singson Jr., Ilocos Sur Second District Representative Kristine Singson-Meehan, represented by PBM Virginia Pe Benito, Ilocos Sur Governor Jeremias “Jerry” Singson, represented by PBM Christopher Abraham Baterina, and Provincial Liga ng mga Barangay Federated President PBM Constante Benzon, led the opening ceremony.
DICT Regional Director Gaudan led the discussion on the Electronic Government Philippines (eGov Ph.), which is the mobile application developed by DICT that aims to help people have easier, faster, and more convenient access to the various services of the government.
The E-Gov Ph has numerous features, such as the Citizen-Centric Platform, which allows people to monitor the transparency and integrity of the government; Integrated Government Services, which serves as a one-stop shop for public services in both local and national agencies; Streamlined Government Transactions, which allows people to have easy and faster transactions with the various government agencies; and Redefining Government with Digital Transformation, which aims to promote digitalization in the country through integrating digital transformation systems and solutions.
Furthermore, seminars on Introduction to Animation, Graphic Design and Illustration, Cybersecurity Awareness, and Digital Cartooning were held in the afternoon.
