City’s Public Primary Students undertake modular assessment

To assess the effectiveness of the modular type of education in the city, the City Government of Vigan in partnership with the Department of Education-Vigan City and the Synergeia Foundation conducted simultaneous assessment activity among public elementary students last January 27 and 28, 2021 in the different barangay covered courts of the City.

A percentage of the students for each grade level were selected to undertake the said activity in which they took English, Filipino and Mathematics pen and paper test, while observing Minimum Health Standards set by the City Covid-19 Task Force.

“This activity is very important for us to determine the student’s waterloo and make some remedies together with our partners for our children to improve their learning and cope with the new normal setting of education,” said Principal Juliana Pila of San Julian Elementary School, one of the participating schools.

The Synergeia Foundation is a private organization and partner of the City
Government of Vigan since the start of the current administration led by Mayor Juan Carlo Medina. Both parties focus on the betterment of the City’s governance particularly in education.

Last September 2020, the Synergeia Foundation offered free seminar via online to the teachers and parents of the city for the proper implementation and guidance towards the new normal learning set up of the students.
