City Government of Vigan is ISO 9001: 2015 Certified

With City’s strong eagerness to give high quality service to its constituents and partners, the City Government of Vigan passed the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Stage-Two Audit and now ISO 9001: 2015 Certified in All Government Services held last April 2-3 at Vigan City Hall and all the Economic Enterprises and Social Service facilities of the city together with the TUV Nord the City’s certifying body.

During its first day, the top management interview was conducted to the City Mayor Juan Carlo Medina; Department Heads headed by City Administrator Atty. Joanne Janice Quodala-Formoso; Quality Management Representative Franco Que and Internal Quality Auditor Pert Alagano.

Meanwhile Villa Fernandina De Vigan, City Social and Welfare Division, City Health Office, City Civil Registrar Office, Youth and Sports Development, City Veterinary Office, City Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office, City Agriculture Office, Cooperative Office, Productivity Center, Vigan Culture and Trade Center, Legislative Office, City Mayor’s Office, Administrator’s Office including MIS and Special Projects Division, Legal Services Office, City Planning and Development Office, City Human Resource and Management Office, City Internal Audit Office, City General Services Office, City Events Promotion and Protocol Office, Vigan Heritage Administration Office, City Public Safety and Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office, City Environment and Natural Resources, City Treasury Office, City Budget Office and Accounting Office took the first day audit simultaneously with their respective auditors.

In the second day, the pressure continued as the Simulation Therapeutic Administration Center (STAC), Mira Hills, Vigan Skills Training Institute (VSTI), Vigan Public Market, Vigan Public Market Annex Terminal, Slaughter House, Vigan City Convention, Playa De Oro, City Engineering Office, Document Control Custodian, Assessors Office, Bids and Awards Committee/ Voucher Team, Business Permits and Licensing Office, Recovery Facility and River Cruise went through the same process.

General documented information, Operational planning and control, Production and service provision (control/ identification and traceability/ customer and external property/ preservation/ post-delivery activities/ changes control), Release of products and services, Control of nonconforming outputs, Environment for the operation of processes and Follow up of Previous finding (if applicable) were the focus of the said audit.

After a rigorous consolidations of results among TUV Nord representatives headed by Audit Team Leader Eden Manauis together with the technical expert Carmelita Madeja proclaimed that the city government of Vigan passed the ISO 9001: 2015 Audit.

Vigan City Mayor gratified the TUV Nord and the entire City Government for their efforts and unity towards achieving the ISO 9001: 2015 Certificate.

Hence, the Local Government Unit of Vigan truly proved that the city provides quality services towards its constituents and partners. And this shows that the city has international standards and enable it to be globally competitive organization.
