After being declared under Enhanced Community Quarantine last September 22, 2021, the City Government of Vigan headed by Mayor Juan Carlo Medina through the City Social Welfare and Development Office started its distribution of the 500 Pesos cash to every Bigueño family as assistance last October 1, 2021.
To provide faster delivery of service, the City Mayor instructed some employees of each office in the City Hall to augment the distribution.
Likewise, the City Government also distributed 1 whole chicken and 5 kilos of rice to remaining families as addition to the assistance given by the Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur.
Free shuttle service was also provided by the City Government of Vigan through the City General Services Office to give free lift to the Biguenos to acquire their needs particularly food and medicine since that public transportation is not allowed during the implementation of the ECQ as set by the National and Provincial IATF.
