CDC CONDUCTS DOOR-TO-DOOR MOVING UP CEREMONY AMID PANDEMIC

Undertaking early childhood care plays an important role in children’s development and provides a valuable support to families with young children. With the help of the Child Development Workers and the strong support of the government as well as the community, young children are able to develop their physical, motor, emotional, social, language and cognitive development.

To fulfill the dreams of the City’s pre-schoolers, the City Government of Vigan through the City Social Welfare and Development Office in partnership with the different Barangay Officials pushed through this year’s Child Development Centers Moving Up Ceremony which started last June 08, 2020.

Despite the pandemic, the City’s Child Development Workers together with the Barangay Officials conducted door to door Moving Up Ceremonies to 900 CDC graduates. Graduates and their parents were able to feel the essence of having a real graduation ceremony at their doorsteps. With a face mask, the graduates had the chance to wear their best dress and toga while receiving their certificate of completion from their teacher.

“We’re very thankful to the City Government of Vigan for making this event possible. It is indeed a very memorable experience to our dear children that even if we have a pandemic they still felt somehow the feeling of having a graduation ceremony.” CDC Parent Marie Rabanal said.             Special Awards were also given such as the Bright Smile Awardee from the City Health Office and other motivational awards.
