The Department of Social Welfare and Development – Regional Field Office I together with the City Social Welfare and Development Office released the Second Semester of last year’s Social Pensions among 1222 indigent
Bigueño senior citizens at their respective residence last January 19-22, 2021.

personnel led by Social Welfare Officer I Laurence Quindigan personally cashed out the P3000.00 pesos to the said beneficiaries.
The said program is one of the provisions stated under Section 5 of Republic
Act 9994 otherwise known as the Expanded Senior Citizens Act of 2010 that serves as the additional financial assistance of the government amounting to P500.00 monthly stipend to augment the daily subsistence and other medical needs of every indigent senior citizen.
Feeble, sickly or with Disability with no pension and no permanent source of income or financial assistance from the relatives to support his or her basic needs were the eligible beneficiaries of the program.
