US Ambassador to the Philippines Philip Goldberg visited the Heritage City of Vigan on September 4, 2014. The US envoy was welcomed by the city’s protocol ofiicer Mrs. Geozita Haygood in front of the City Hall as he was led to the Mayor’s Office where she was also welcomed by the city officials led by Mayor Eva Marie S. Medina. In their meeting the ambassador was overwhelmed with the hospitality of the people. He even described the city “ a beautiful city with remarkable history and cultural heritage.” After tasting the sumptuous Vigan empanada and okoy, the envoy together with Mayor Medina toured the Historic Calle Crisologo. Then, they had their lunch at the residence of Mayor Medina.
