As part of the City’s preparations for a smooth and organized implementation of its COVID-19 Vaccination Rollout Plan, the City Government of Vigan, through the Vaccination Rollout Committee, steered its first simulation activity at the University of Northern Philippines Gymnasium last March 16, 2021.
This was participated by the members of the Barangay Health Emergency Response Team (BHERT) and Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) of Barangays VIII, IX, and Tamag.
The rollout gave the barangays and the vaccination team a feel of the process – from registration up to monitoring.
The Simulation Activity was spear-headed by the Vaccination Rollout Committee
Chair, Dr. Loida Ranches, and other members and was attended by Provincial Health
Officer Dr. Carmeliza Singson, DOH Ilocos Sur Representative Engr. John Foz, UNP President
Erwin Cadorna, Vice Mayor Lourdes Baquiran and SPM Kristen Benedict Figuerres.
“It is very important for us to hold such activity for us to be prepared before the vaccines arrived. This will also help the City’s Vaccination Rollout Committee to distinguish its strengths and weaknesses for us to immediately work on them,” CHO Ranches said.
Our Vigan Emergency Response Team and the UniVERT performed ambulance response drill in case that there will be emergency during the actual vaccination. Ranches added.
Meanwhile, Barangay IV and Pantay Daya also participated the said simulation at Immaculate Conception School of Theology as one of the City’s Vaccination Sites last March 17, 2021.
