As one of the city’s thrusts on social protection, the City Government of Vigan through the City Health Office in collaboration with the Ilocos Sur Provincial Hospital Gabriela Silang (ISPHGS) holds its last leg of this year’s bloodletting activity on November 26, 2020 at the Vigan Culture and Trade Center.
Participated the event were employees of the City Government headed by City Mayor Juan Carlo Medina, National Agencies and Non-Government Organizations.
“Despite of the pandemic, the CGV with our partnered agencies continuously conduct this humanitarian action because byhaving a sufficient blood stock for our constituents, we’re able to save them especially in times of emergency.” CHO IIDr, Loida Ranches said.
Ranches also highlighted that the number of donors is higher compared to last year. She also ensured that the conduct of the entire activity is safe by strictly implementing the health protocols.
Meanwhile, the Beautederm Corporation through its owner and CEO Ms. Rhea Anicoche-Tan and Corporate Secretary Bambie Taborda sponsored hygiene kits for the donors.
The City Government of Vigan, the ISPHGS and the Philippine Red Cross-Ilocos Sur Chapter traditionally conduct such activities to collect hundreds of blood bags to maintain the City’s blood pool which can be tapped during emergency situations.
