The City Government of Vigan receives the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) or Pagkilala sa Katapatan at Kahusayan ng Pamahalaang Lokal, a new and improved version of the Seal of Good Housekeeping (SGH) which was launched in 2010. The award was handed over to Vigan City Mayor Eva Marie S. Medina by DILG Provincial Director Agnes De Leon. SGLG was introduced to provide a wider scope of challenges to local governments units (LGUs) to continue good governance practices while providing better services.
The City Government of Vigan has been recognized for its good performance in all the three core assessment areas – Good Financial Housekeeping, Social Protection and Disaster Preparedness. With this award, the city also received P5 million as cash prize.
