The provisions of school supplies for Bigueños is one of the priority and yearly undertaking of the City Government of Vigan headed by Mayor Eva Marie S. Medina. All twenty one public elementary and three high schools pupils received school supplies. High School students received plastic envelop with binders, formal theme, ball pens, pencils, pad papers while elementary pupils received bags with crayons, pencil, notebooks, formal theme and erasers. Kinder and Day Care pupils likewise received colouring books, crayons and pencil with eraser.
Mayor Eva says that this is done to lessen the burden on the part of the parents.
She added that the city government will continue distributing bags and school supplies because it is one way of encouraging pupils to pursue their education.
In addition the City Government funded the provision of accident insurance for all public school, high school and elementary students, teaching and non-teaching staff of DepEd Vigan.
