The Vigan City Chess Tournament 2014 involved 90 competitors across 3 categories from various towns and cities of Ilocos Sur. The tournament was held at the Vigan City ABC Hall on August 16, 2014 and at the Vigan Culture and Trade Center (VCTC) on August 17, 2014. The event is organized by the City Government of Vigan, with the support of the Vigan City Chess Club.
We run the tournament using the Swiss Perfect management system. The event sees players compete in 7 rounds, often playing matches that last more than an hour. The level of competition is very good and balanced, and after five rounds there are just a handful of players with full amount of points.
