Tagilako ti Ylocos year 4 another success!

Tagilako ti Ylocos, a trade fair now on its 4th year was again successfully held. The said affair was participated in by different small and medium scale entrepreneurs from regions 1, 2, 3 and CAR. Clients from all walks of life came to gawk, buy and eat at sections systematically arranged for the convenience of the patrons. Furniture from the Vigan Antiques Association were displayed near the entry point while furniture from La Union, Ifugao, Nueva Viscaya and Cagayan were positioned at the aisle. Different bamboo crafts from Abra and souvenir items from as far as Palawan were placed at the wings. The food court was situated at the extreme end of the big tent. Vigan delicacies such as longganisa, bagnet ,dinengdeng ,dinardaraan, empanada and sinanglao were served . Ornamentals and rare varieties of plants were displayed at the Plaza Burgos. Plant lovers flocked these from day one up to the last hour of the last day of the fair.
Among the merchants Rowena Aromin from Baguio was the top seller with Php 100,500.00 while Jesse E. Suncuaco of LINEMA sold the most souvenir items with a gross sale of Php 101,000.00. Most salable items were the corner and ceiling lampshades made out of driftwoods artistically crafted . Grace Rusibin topped the furnituremakers with a Php 200,000.00 gross sales. Recorded gross sales of the fair from Sept 8 to 12, 2010 is Php 2.8 million.
The exhibitors were very thankful to the City Government of Vigan for conducting these trade fairs as market support to smalll and medium enterprises. //Hermie Etrata
